NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED – (A&M 763) Out of Los Angeles, this tune written by Guy Hemrick, Jerry Howard Steiner & Jack Keller was more or less an answer song to ‘New York’s A Lonely Town’, a hit by the Trade Winds on Red Bird Records in early 1965. Utilizing L.A.’s ‘Wrecking Crew’ at a session in Hollywood’s famed Gold Star Studios, arranger/producers Jack Nitzsche & Marshall Leib created a ‘quazi-Spectoresque meets Surf’ production. Singing over the strumming guitars, shaking sleigh bells and drum fills a’plenty were Marilyn Wilson and Gracia Nitzsche.
